Jakarta, wapresri.go.id – Vice President (VP) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin, Mrs. Hj. Wury Ma’ruf Amin and a limited group left for Singapore today, Monday (17/10/2022).

Using the Indonesian Air Force’s Boeing 737-400 Presidential Aircraft, the VP and his entourage took off from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta to Changi International Airport, Singapore at around 13.00 WIB.

After traveling for 1 hour 45 minutes, the VP is expected to arrive at Changi Airport at 15:45 local time (WS). At the airplane door, the VP will be greeted by the Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo and the Indonesian Defense Attaché in Singapore, Achmad Zailani.

The VP’s agenda to Singapore includes a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, Lawrence Wong, at the Parliament of Singapore on Tuesday afternoon (10/18/2022) to discuss the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

As it is known, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries on September 7, 1967, Singapore has become the closest neighboring country that has important meaning for Indonesia’s national interests and regional interests.

Geographically, the two countries have direct maritime borders. This encourages the establishment of relationships and cooperation in various fields.

Bilateral relations between the two countries have developed well, positively and constructively. This is reflected in the intensity of mutual visits between the leaders and high officials of the two countries which continues to increase from year to year to continue to strengthen the good relations that exist.

Before meeting the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, earlier in the afternoon the VP will greet and have a dialogue with the Indonesian Diaspora in Singapore which will take place in the Nusantara Room of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore.

On the third day, Wednesday (18/10/2022), the VP and his entourage will return to Jakarta.
