Vice President Jusuf Kalla accompanied by Mrs. Mufidah Jusuf Kalla left for Thailand this morning (March 21) using Presidential Aircraft Boeing 737-400 to receive honorary doctorate degree in business administration (management) from Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (RMUTI) tomorrow in Pathumthani, a province located in the outskirts of Bangkok, Thailand.
The Vice President is scheduled to receive the degree scheduled that will be conferred by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at the university’s Graduation Hall and will be attended by 2,000 graduates.
This evening, the Vice President is slated to deliver a speech at the Gala Dinner hosted by the university.
The Vice President is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call to the Prime Minister of Thailand Prayuth Chan-Ocha and hold a meeting with the Indonesian community in Thailand.
This is in fact not the first time the Vice President to receive a honorary doctorate degree. Earlier, the Vice President also received the same degree from Soka University in Tokyo, Japan in 2009, and the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2007, as well as five other honorary doctorate degrees from various universities in Indonesia.
It is planned that on Thursday night (March 22) the Vice President and entourage will conclude the visit and return to Jakarta.
