Opening the Commemoration of the 39th Haornas 2022, Vice President Urges to Develop Athletes through Optimizing Sport Science

Balikpapan, wapresri.go.id – Vice President Ma’ruf Amin said that sport was an important part of national development to improve people’s quality of life and welfare. Moreover, he added that sport also became a necessity for every human being to shape their physical and spiritual health. For this reason, the Vice President encouraged the relevant parties to implement sports science to improve the development of national athletes.

“Scoring champions is certainly not an instant matter, it requires continuous guidance based on science. Sports science must be practiced seriously, so that our athletes will be more well-managed,” said the Vice President when opening the Commemoration of the 39th National Sports Day 2022 at the Batakan Stadium, Jl. Mulawarman, Manggar, Balikpapan City, Friday (09/09/2022).

Furthermore, the Vice President also hoped that the development of the sports industry in Indonesia to be able to support the national economic growth.

“We want to create a healthy lifestyle and outstanding athletes. But more than that, we also want to build a sports industry that is able to contribute to economic growth. This vision requires a synergy between the central and regional government, business and industry, media and academia, community, as well as athletes and coaches,” he explained.

Therefore, the Vice President invited the relevant parties to synergize in building the national sports industry.

“I invite all stakeholders to collaborate in building a modern and conducive ecosystem for the growth of the national sports industry,” said the Vice President.

On this occasion, the Vice President gave his appreciation to the accomplished athletes and coaches who continuously supported the Indonesian sports industry.

“Therefore, I would like to express my gratitude, especially to the athletes and coaches, who have raised our national flag and proclaimed the Indonesia Raya anthem on various sports stages,” he said.

Closing his remarks, the Vice President conveyed his congratulations on the Commemoration of the 39th Haornas 2022 and prayed for the progress of the national sports industry.

“Happy 39th National Sports Day. Let’s advance and excel in Indonesian sports!” he concluded.

Previously, Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali conveyed that the 39th Hornas 2022 became a momentum to increase the people’s enthusiasm for sports.

“We use this 39th Haornas commemoration as momentum to re-inflame the spirit of cultivating sports. Hopefully, people will be more active and diligent in exercising and making sports a lifestyle,” he explained.
