Mataram, wapresri.go.id – The rapid advancement of information technology influences Indonesia’s exposure to foreign culture, thought, and values. The younger generation should maintain their national identity so that they are expected to be able to bring peace and harmony to this country.

“Caring for Indonesia is not only within the framework of national unity but also conservation of the natural wealth, thus it can give benefits to the younger generation. For this reason, we must concern with the natural balance and environmental conservation,” said Vice President K.H. Ma’ruf Amin at the Inauguration of the 15th National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of the Hindu Dharma Indonesia Student Association (KMHDI) at the Prime Park Hotel, Mataram, Thursday (30/06/2022).

Furthermore, having the theme “Caring for Indonesia”, the Vice President gave three messages that need to be followed up by the youth and the members of the organization as well.

“First, KMHDI should strengthen its organization internally, thus it influences the youth to strengthen nationalism, embrace diversity, respect the local culture, develop technology skills, build the nation and keep the earth sustainable,” he said.

Second, the Vice President added, Rakornas should become a forum to explore ideas, find breakthroughs, and determine strategic steps in helping the government prepare high-quality human resources.

For the last, the Vice President said that KMHDI could formulate ideas and support the government in the discharging of its duties as the host of the G20.

“You are also expected to be active in the G20 event that collaborates with the youth, including in disseminating the positive image of the G20 issue through social media,” he hoped.

After delivering his remarks, the Vice President accompanied by the Governor of NTB Zulkieflimansyah and the Chairman of KMHDI Presidium I Putu Yoga Saputra struck the Baleq Drum marking the 15th National Coordination Meeting of KMHDI official open. (SM/LHS -BPMI Setwapres)
