Manila. Vice President Jusuf Kalla held a bilateral meeting with Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Peter Charles Paire O’Neill at Intercontinental Hotel, Manila today, on the sidelines of APEC Summit.

In the meeting, both leaders agreed on improving the economic relationship, especially in trade, between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. “We agreed to intensify our economic cooperation, including the economy of border regions,” said the Vice President.

Prime Minister O’Neill also asked Indonesia to help Papua New Guinea in holding APEC Summit 2018 in which the country would become the host.

“We are ready to help out as Indonesia had experience holding such an event,” Mr Kalla said.

Following the meeting, the Vice President met up with Colombian President at Diamond Hotel, Manila.
