Jakarta, wapresri.go.id – The independence of the Indonesian nation was obtained through the battles and sacrifices made by the nation’s soldiers. The battles were not short but took hundreds of years. Therefore, the Indonesian people must be grateful for the nation’s independence, because it is also one of the blessings bestowed upon us by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala (SWT).

“Therefore, we must be grateful, appreciative, and also grateful to the nation’s soldiers. Because the Prophet said, man lam yasykurinnasi lam yasykurillah, who is not grateful to humans, he is also not grateful to God,” said Vice President (VP) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin in his tausiyah at the National Dhikr and Prayer for The 77th Indonesia Independence at the Merdeka Palace Courtyard, Jakarta, Monday night (01/08/2022).

Furthermore, the VP said that one way to be grateful for the blessings of independence is to maintain the integration of the nation. So, the grace is not taken back by Allah SWT.

“It is our duty to keep this nation intact, to remain radiant,” said the VP.
“[Do not let] Allah then take it away, take away its light and leave us in darkness,” he added.

On the other hand, the VP also emphasized that the way to be grateful for the blessings of independence can also be done by maintaining and processing Indonesia’s Natural Resources (SDA) properly. This is because Indonesia has abundant natural resources that are not owned by other countries.

“Indeed we have to process it. Therefore what we need is, according to my terms, Hamzah Washal. What is Hamzal Washal? Hamzah letters connect one sentence to another so that it becomes a beautiful string of words. This means that Hamzah Washal is entrepreneurs, off-takers, who can process and downstream agricultural products, plantation products, marine products, so that these become products that can be marketed,” the VP urged.

Closing his directive, the VP also invited all Indonesian people to do more good performances and repent to Allah SWT, so that at the 77th Indonesian independence, all people can continue to do good things to fill the nation’s independence.

“And with prayers and dhikr tonight, we all return to repentance to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala,” concluded the VP.

In line with the VP, President Joko Widodo in his speech said that currently, the world is not in a good condition. After the Covid-19 pandemic that has lasted for more than 2 years, there is currently a war between Russia and Ukraine which has caused a disruption in the distribution of basic foodstuffs and has an impact on food, energy, and financial crises in various parts of the world.

For this reason, the President asks the entire community to be grateful for the nation’s independence, and make this national dhikr and prayer a moment to ask Allah SWT’s blessings for all the efforts made by the Indonesian people.

“Once again, let us pray together, do dhikr together, ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’alaa so that our country will always be filled with food and energy and we will not lack for it. We are trying, working together, so that we can have abundant [food stock] and can help other countries that are currently experiencing difficulties,” said the President.

Present at this event were Ministers of the Indonesia Maju Cabinet, Religious Leaders, the Management of the Hubbul Wathon Dhikr Council, and students from various Islamic boarding schools. (NN/LHS – BPMI, Setwapres)
