Jakarta, wapresri.go.id – Upon receiving the visit of President Director of PT PAL Indonesia (PAL) Budiman Saleh, Vice President Jusuf Kalla underscored that the state-owned enterprise engaged in the shipyard industry should prioritise its produce quality and speed of production.

“The point is on how to maintain good quality and speed of production,” said the Vice President at his office on Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Jakarta, Monday (22/1).

At the meeting, Budiman reported the progress of the restructuring and revitalization of the company since he joined it.

In general, he said, the current PAL condition is relatively improved. This company, Budiman continued, is now processing naval defence system (Alutsista) products ordered by the Navy.

In addition, he added, PAL has exported some of its products abroad. “Our products have entered into the Southeast Asian market, such as Thailand, Malaysia, and also the Philippines, as well as some African countries,” he said.

“We are conducting training and providing certificates to approximately 1,500 Indonesian youth from November 2017 to November 2018. They would then become welding experts who are certified, (they are) taught of entrepreneurship, and also taught on Bela Negara (State Defence),” he explained.
