Jakarta, wapresri.go.id – Along with the rapid development of information technology, the bureaucracy administration is also required to be more professional, agile, and accountable. Therefore, it needs bureaucrats who are adaptive to change, and able to build collaboration in performance, innovation, and creativity.

For this reason, as new bureaucrats, the young civil service candidates graduating from the Institute of Domestic Administration (IPDN) are expected to continuously drive the acceleration of improving the quality of public services.

“(Please) present fresh ideas, as well as breakthroughs for ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the government operations,” said Vice President Ma’ruf Amin at the inauguration of the Young Civil Service Candidates of the IPDN Batch XXIX in 2022 at the Vice President’s Palace, Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan No. 6, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (02/07/2022).

Furthermore, the Vice President said that the tasks of community service that will be carried out by civil servants in the future require patience, tenacity, and determination. Therefore, he advised them to master the latest technology.

“First, make the mastery of science and technology-based competencies a capital of readiness to face the global challenges. On the other hand, we must maintain our national identity in the midst of disruption era and the advanced civilization,” he said.

Second, he added, make a strong and noble character as a foundation and compass in carrying out duties and dedication to the nation and state.

“Strengthen faith and piety, as well as anti-corruption effort. Set an example in honesty and professionalism for the community and the environment,” he said.

In addition, the Vice President also asked the young civil service officers to build sensitivity to the social dynamics, especially to anticipate the growth of ideas of radicalism, terrorism, and the dangers of drugs and other addictive substances.

“Third, make the mindset, work culture, core values of service-oriented, accountable, competent, harmonious, loyal, adaptive, and collaborative, as well as “Proud to Serve the Nation”, as the foundation to be actualized in daily life,” he explained.

Closing his speech, the Vice President advised that the young civil service officers inaugurated today to continue improving their competence and quality in line with the bureaucratic reform policies.

“Along with the national bureaucratic reform policy, now, an expansion of the framework of thinking is importantly needed. Thus, ASN is expected to no longer be oriented to structural positions, but to be more motivated to improve their competence and quality in filling up functional positions that prioritize expertise,” he concluded.

Previously, Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian reported that 1.992 Young Civil Service Candidates in Batch XXIX who graduated from IPDN have been inaugurated as the Bachelor of Applied Government Sciences on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Kampung IPDN Jatinangor. Then, Tito continued that the young civil service candidates would serve in the Central Government, Provincial Government, City Government and Regency Governments throughout Indonesia.

“IPDN is the largest official educational institution, with the number of students in the 2021-2022 academic year amounting to 5.846 students, divided into 4 levels consisting of Level I Praja Pratama 1.127 students, Level II Praja Muda 1.102 students, Level Ill Praja Madya 1.625 students and Level IV who have graduated and will be inaugurated today are 1.992 students,” he explained.

For additional information, during the current Covid-19 pandemic, the IPDN held the inauguration of the Young Civil Service Candidates directly in two locations. There are 9 students, including the best graduate, Muhammad Isyraqi Aufar Suseno, with the GPA 3.91 and the 8 others are representatives of various religions in Indonesia were present at the Vice President’s Palace to make the pledge of civil service. While the 1.983 other graduates were present at the IPDN Campus in Jatinangor, Sumedang, West Java.

Present at the event, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs and Acting Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Mahfud MD, IPDN Chancellor Hadi Prabowo, Professors, Lecturers, and IPDN Structural and Functional Officials, and the Young Civil Service Graduates from the 29th Generation of IPDN 2022.
