Jakarta. Vice President Jusuf Kalla attended an event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (INDEF) held at Sahid Jaya Hotel, Jakarta, tonight. In his speech, the Vice President conveyed his appreciation toward the think-tank institute for its research and thought for the country.

Indonesia, he said, has had its ups and downs. In coping with such situations, he continued, government received and considered inputs from economic experts, including those of INDEF. “We have to solve economic issues seriously. We must not repeat the same fault due to wrong policy made,” he said.

The People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) chairman Zulkifli Hasan, the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) speaker Irman Gusman, Manpower Minister Hanif Dhakiri, Industry Minister Saleh Husin, Agrarian and Spatial Planning Minister Ferry Mursidan Baldan, and a senior Golkar party politician Akbar Tandjung also attended the event.
