Jakarta, wapresri.go.id – The recovery from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic that the Indonesian nation is currently fighting is still facing a gloomy global reality, such as the threat of a food crisis, energy crisis, and financial crisis. In addition, the threat of a recession and signals of global economic sluggishness is getting stronger. Many Central Banks have responded by raising their benchmark interest rates to curb inflation.

Facing this difficult situation, Vice President K.H. Ma’ruf Amin asked all parties to maintain and optimize Indonesia’s modalities and domestic strengths. This is a step to anticipate the reversal of capital flows from developing to developed countries.

“Domestic strengths that we need to maintain include domestic consumption and MSMEs, which support economic growth,” said the Vice President when opening the 9th Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) 2022 at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jl. Gatot Subroto No. 1, Central Jakarta, Thursday (06/10/2022).

Not without reason, continued the Vice President; in the second quarter of this year, 51.47% of GDP came from household consumption.

“For this reason, the government continues to maintain the level of people’s purchasing power and consumption through social assistance and cash social assistance targeting households and MSMEs,” he said.

Not only that said the Vice President, but the government also continues to echo the proud national movement made in Indonesia. He also emphasized that domestically produced products, including MSME products, are no less in quality than imported products from other countries.

“Hijab fashion products, for example, have won the hearts of domestic and foreign consumers. We must continue to improve this,” he said.

For this reason, the Vice President appealed to government officials not to hesitate to buy and use local products.

“Let’s be the first, set an example for the community, be proud to use domestically made products,” he said.

Finally, at the event with the theme “Recover Together, Recover Stronger: Optimizing Sharia Economy and Finance for Inclusive Recovery”, the Vice President also asked all elements of the nation to continue collaborating in efforts to recover from the impact of the pandemic.

“Efforts to recover faster and rise stronger should not only be a slogan but must be translated into policies and realized in multi-stakeholder collaboration,” he pleaded. (SM/-BPMI Setwapres)
