Gresik, wapresri.go.id – Vice President (VP) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin today visited the Swallow’s Nest (SBW) factory and had a dialogue with SBW MSME actors at PT Husein Alam Indah, Jalan Raya Golokan Village, Sidayu District, Gresik, East Java, Friday (30/09/2022).

During the site inspection, the VP said that the SBW industry has considerable potential. Therefore, he hopes that the SBW industry players can develop it well, so it will bring benefits to the community.

“The government has a concern for advancing swallow industry, both in terms of management, processing, and in terms of marketing. This is the government’s commitment,” said the VP.

Furthermore, the VP said that the SBW industry has a wide market even abroad, such as China. But unfortunately, to enter China at this time the conditions are quite complicated, making it difficult for exporters to penetrate.

“I asked if it (the difficulty) was because the efficacy was different, it turned out not to be a matter of efficacy, but a matter of form. The strange thing is (exports) cannot go through other countries, but must go through Hong Kong, so the price is lower,” he explained.

For this reason, he asked the SBW industry players to take an inventory of the problems of existing export barriers in detail and immediately submit them to the government.

“We will try to find a way to penetrate (the Chinese market). It used to be possible, but later it can’t (again),” the VP urged.

While looking for a solution, said the VP, the current government will also continue to improve the management of the SBW industry.

“The important thing is that the government has progress in its management and we will find a way out of the obstacles,” he stressed again.

Then, the VP revealed that to resolve all technical problems related to the SBW industry, he would immediately coordinate with other ministries/agencies and related parties.

“Things that are still technical difficulties, we will work on it together. I’ll talk to the Ministry of Agriculture and related parties later. I’m grateful, I can know and I can see (the problem) here,” he stated.

On this occasion the VP also gave his appreciation to the SBW industry players whose processing is not easy but can produce quality products.

“I’m happy because I can see the processing earlier, (it turns out) it’s very difficult. He said that training must be carried out, so that they (workers) can (process),” he said.

Moreover, the VP also expects the young generation of productive age to have expertise in all fields, including the ability to manage and utilize the potential of SBW.

“We really want to control everything, the swallow (industry), anything. That’s why we carry out government programs, namely skilling, reskilling, and upskilling. So that our human resources have the skills and we can take advantage of all the potential that Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has given us, including the swallow,” he concluded. (NN, BPMI – Setwapres)
