Tokyo, wapresri.go.id – After attending the state funeral procession for Former Japanese Prime Minister (PM) Shinzo Abe at Nippon Budokan, Vice President K.H. Ma’ruf Amin followed the Greetings Occasion to convey his condolences directly to Japanese PM Fumio Kishida and the spouse of the Former PM Shinzo Abe, Akie Abe at Akasaka Palace, Tokyo, Tuesday (27/09/2022).
“On behalf of the government and all the people of Indonesia, I express my deep condolences on the passing of former PM Abe,” said the Vice President.
More than that, he also expressed his appreciation and respect for PM Abe’s leadership, especially in improving the RI-Japan relationship into a Strategic Partnership.
“PM Abe’s contribution has further strengthened the friendship between the people of the two countries. The Indonesian people will always remember him,” he said.
Furthermore, to PM Kishida, the Vice President also conveyed greetings from President Joko Widodo and hoped to meet again at the G20 Bali Summit.
“Hopefully, we can meet again with His Majesty at the G20 Summit in Bali next November,” he hoped.
Not only expressing his condolences to PM Kishida, but on this occasion, the Vice President also expressed his condolences directly to the spouse of Former PM Shinzo Abe, Akie Abe.
“Mrs. Akie Abe, representing the government and all Indonesian people, I express my deepest condolences for the passing of Mr. Shinzo Abe,” said the Vice President.
To Akie Abe, the Vice President again said that the leadership and exemplary service of the Former PM Shinzo Abe will always be remembered by the Indonesian people, especially in strengthening the friendship between the people of the two countries.
“Let me convey greetings from President Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana, along with the hope that Mrs. Abe is always given health and strength,” concluded the Vice President.
For information, the Greeting Occasion at Akasaka Palace was attended by heads of state/government who participated in the state funeral procession of Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to express their condolences directly.
PM Fumio Kishida initiated the speech, accompanied by Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno Hirokazu, and Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa, then the spouse of the former PM Shinzo Abe, Akie Abe.
The time allocation is 1 (one) minute for each head of state/government to convey greetings and condolences.
