Sumbawa-wapresri.go.id. Dea Malela International Modern Islamic Boarding School as an educational institution should always maintain the quality of education in order to be on par with similar educational institutions that have long been existing and advanced. Vice President Jusuf Kalla stated this during the groundbreaking ceremony of Sa’idah Mosque, Bait Kalla house of clerics, and the homestead for female teachers of Dea Malela schoold, in Pemangong village, Lenangguar, Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara province on Wednesday (July 20).

According to the Vice President, to realize the existence of modern boarding school, there should be at least two main things i.e. curriculum that can reach the ideals of future needs and quality maintained standards.

As is often delivered in various occasions, the Vice President also believed that good education does not only teaches knowledge or expertise, but also moral or character.

Indonesia, he added, which is a country with a majority Muslim population has two advantages compared to other Muslim countries, i.e. the largest number of Muslim population, and a civilization that has a high tolerance.

Today, the Vice President said, the condition of Muslims in the Middle East is alarming with a life full of violence, the threat of terror and injustice, so it cannot be a guideline and the mecca of Islamic thinking.

With these concerns, the government will establish an International Islamic University of Indonesia, which is expected to produce intellectuals and scientists who are moderate with global quality.

“This university is a part of efforts to build a noble civilization and character,” he said.

Also attending the ceremony were Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of State for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Yuddy Chrisnandi, West Nusa Tenggara Governor Muhammad Zainul Majdi, Head of Vice Presidential Office Mohammad Oemar, and Chairman of Dea Malela Foundation Din Syamsuddin.
