Tangerang, wapresri.go.id – The majority shares of Indonesia Sharia Bank (BSI) were currently held by the State-Owned Bank Association (Himbara) banks, namely BNI, BRI, and Bank Mandiri. Therefore, BSI could not be called a state bank because it had not received an injection of funds from the state.
In this regard, Vice President (Vice President) KH Ma’ruf Amin hopes that in the future BSI would become one of Himbara’s banks.
“There is a desire to make BSI a state stock, so that it becomes a company like Himbara. Now, this is in the process of being studied,” said the Vice President when giving a press statement after inaugurating the Sharia Tower Topping Off on Jl. Prince Antasari Unit CBD-21, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2, Tangerang Regency, Banten, Tuesday (23/08/2022).
This, continued the Vice President, was carried out to strengthen the position and develop BSI, so that it became one of the largest Islamic banks in the world.
“Now it has become one of (in the ranks) Islamic banks in the top 10 (world level), so that it can be even bigger when government shares are officially included in BSI,” he concluded. (DMA/LHS-BPMI Setwapres)
