Mimika, wapresri.go.id – Excellent human resources are a priority for the government in producing skilled, qualified, and highly competitive manpower. Human resources in the land of Papua is no exception, where the government focuses on advancing the welfare of its people. Vice President (VP) K. H. Ma’ruf Amin also praised the abilities of young Papuans in his speech when conducting a virtual inspection at the Inauguration of the Somatua Training Center in Mimika, Central Papua Province.

“I feel proud that there are many sons and daughters of Papua who encourage the birth of new entrepreneurs as well as skilled job candidates,” said the VP when inaugurating the Somatua Training Center Building at the Rimba Papua Hotel, Jalan Kwamki Narama No. 1, Mimika Baru District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province, Wednesday (30/11/2022).

The VP further said, to further sharpen this ability, the development of vocational training is needed as a new approach in the process of accelerating the development of Papua’s welfare.

“We will give priority to vocational development as a new approach for Papua going forward,” stated the VP.

“I hope that it will progress and develop in the future,” he added.

On the same occasion, the VP also congratulated Somatua Training Center, whose 14 programs from their departments had received accreditation.

“Once again, congratulations to the Somatua Training Center, and congratulations on the successful accreditation of 14 programs,” concluded the VP.

The event was continued by pressing a button by the VP as a sign of the Inauguration of the Somatua Training Center Building which was followed by the signing of the inscription.

Somatua Training Center is an educational institution that has been established since 2020, which aims to encourage the improvement of the quality of male and female human resources in the Land of Papua. This training institute focuses on skills in the mining sector, such as heavy equipment operators, electricity, construction, and mechanics.

Apart from inaugurating the Somatua Training Center, the VP also inaugurated the Mimika Regency Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Management Office at the same location.

Present on the occasion were Acting Governor of Central Papua Rebekah Haluk, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum of Central Papua Province, and Director of the Somatua Foundation Maximus Tipagau.

While the VP was accompanied by the Head of the Vice President’s Secretariat Ahmad Erani Yustika; Special Staff of the VP Masduki Baidlowi, Muhammad Imam Aziz, and Robikin Emhas; as well as the Expert Team of VP Nurdin Tampubolon and Johan Tedja Surya. (NN/LHS– BPMI Setwapres)
