Jakarta, wapresri.go.id – The Vice President (VP) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin welcomed the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Jalal Mirzayev, in his residence, Jalan Diponegoro number 2, Jakarta, on Tuesday (06/21). During a-60 minute meeting, the VP expected that the bilateral relations could be boosted, especially in the non-oil and gas sector.

“Mr. Vice President delivered his expectation to the Ambassador so that the two countries could be working together in increasing the trade of non-oil and gas products in the future,” said the Director for South and Central Asia Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yohannes Jatmiko Heru Prasetyo, in his press statement after accompanying the VP.

Furthermore, Jatmiko said that the reason behind the expectations is that the two countries are currently holding an intensive discussion to promote trade relations between the two countries. Having more trading on the non-oil and gas products will create a more balanced trade between the two countries.

“So we can achieve a balanced and mutually beneficial trading business in the future,” said Jatmiko.

On the other side, Jatmiko elaborated the discussion to elevate halal industry partnership.
“They also agree on the halal products trade as well as halal tourism industry and opening the way on halal products to be exported from Indonesia to Azerbaijan,” explained Jatmiko.

Regarding this issue, the Ambassador gave positive feedback. He considered it beneficial to further advance the relationship to a higher level between Indonesia and Azerbaijan that has been established a long time ago.

“The Ambassador Jalal Mirzayev also talked about 30-year-relationship between the two countries which will be celebrated this year and the opportunity to enhance it, especially through the exchange of visits and bilateral mechanism,” revealed Jatmiko.
