Jakarta, wapresri.go.id – Vice President (VP) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin visited Sarinah Building at Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Monday (27/06/2022). During the visit, The Vice President accompanied by Mrs. Hj. Wury Ma’ruf Amin and Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir, saw firsthand the new face of Sarinah Building, in which various MSME products were displayed, ranging from traditional fabrics, clothes, crafts, footwear, beauty products, to food and beverages.
“I see this as an effort to improve not only the market expansion but also the quality standard. This is an effort to empower, and improve our MSMEs in the future,” said the Vice President in his press statement after the visit.
Furthermore, the Vice President expressed that this improvement in quality and standards could be seen clearly. Because, before a product can enter the storefront, a strict screening has been carried out by the Sarinah management.
“I saw earlier that these MSME products have really risen to the standard and the displayed products have been curated by Sarinah so the standard is an international taste,” said the Vice President.
This, he continued, is one of the main drivers in increasing the attractiveness of Indonesian MSME products in the eyes of buyers.
“The new Sarinah that has been renovated is very good as a display case for MSME products,” said Vice President.
Closing his press statement, the Vice President hopes that in the future, Indonesian MSME products will be more attractive and enticing to both domestic and foreign buyers.
“With this new Sarinah, we hope that our MSMEs market will be expanded and go globally” the Vice President concluded.
In line with the Vice President, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir said that the challenges usually faced by MSME actors, such as packaging, quality improvement, and promotion, would slowly be improved through the screening system in Sarinah. Thus, he added, Indonesian local products will be more competitive and MSME actors will also be encouraged to produce high-quality products.
“We are trying to make Sarinah a showcase so that many people and of course buyers from various foreign countries can see the quality (improvements) that we have done so far,” said Erick.
“This opportunity is extraordinary, we can prove now that our goods are good quality products,” he said.
Besides Mrs. Hj. Wury Ma’ruf Amin and the Minister of SOEs, also attended this visit, the President Director of PT. Sarinah (Persero) Fetty Kwartati. (NN/LHS, BPMI – Setwapres)
