Accompanying President Prabowo Subianto, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming attended the peak night of the 2024 National Christmas Celebration held at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (28/12/2024).
At the Christmas Celebration entitled “Let Us Now Go to Bethlehem,” the Vice President came wearing a brown and black batik motif at around 6.30 pm.
The Vice President was welcomed by the Chairman of the 2024 National Christmas Committee, Thomas Djiwandono.
The two seemed to have a conversation at the door before continuing their steps. In addition, Gibran greeted Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar.
In the event, which was also attended by interfaith leaders, President Prabowo invited all elements of the nation to be grateful for the greatness of Indonesia, which is able to unite in diversity.
“Ladies and gentlemen, today’s Christmas celebration, in the midst of a world full of disputes, full of tensions, full of conflicts, I invite all of us, let us be grateful that we are still living in a cool, safe, good condition,” the Head of State said.
The President then said, in addition to celebrating the moment of this big day with joy, he and all government officials will not stop fighting for the interests of the people, who may not currently be able to feel the same happiness.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I truly feel the hope of all Indonesian people. Therefore, I, together with ministers and officers who are members of the current government, are really working hard to serve the entire Indonesian nation,” said the Head of State.
The President then closed his speech with optimism that Indonesia will be better in the future. Although changes towards improvements made by the government take time, the Head of State promised that he would continue to fight together with all government officials to realize the welfare of the people.
“I am determined with all the strength that exists in my body and soul, I will fight,” he concluded.
