Badung-Bali, wapresri.go.id – The Supreme Audit Institution 20 (SAI20) Summit, which was initiated by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) was an opportunity to show Indonesia’s accomplishment in all aspects, especially in welcoming the G20 Presidency. To that end, Vice President KH Ma’ruf Amin hoped that SAI20 could also improve BPK’s performance and accountability.

“We certainly want the impact to have a better effect on BPK’s work, with the hope of producing better, more accountable, and more transparent performance in the future works,” said the Vice President in his press statement to the media crew after attending the SAI20 Summit, in Sofitel Nusa Dua Bali Hotel, Bali Tourism Development Corporation (BTDC) Tourism Area, Lot N5, Nusa Dua, Bali, Monday (29/08/2022).

Furthermore, regarding the case of the BPK auditor who was caught red-handed (OTT) by the KPK, the Vice President emphasized that strict action has been taken against the case as an effort to maintain the integrity of the BPK.

“I think it must be for sure how to find something a better way to deal with the red-handed case of corruption. And for us, Indonesia, I think it is firm if there are deviations, they will be dealt with in accordance with the existing rules,” said the Vice President.

Ending his statement, the Vice President hoped that SAI20 could be momentum for improvement in all aspects, including the achievement of the SDGs, especially in national development.

“From this meeting, we hope that there will be better efforts, equalizing ways to overcome various problems we faced in the context of national development, in particular of course the achievement of development goals, including the SDGs,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Head of BPK Isma Yatun added that the realization of accountability and good governance was the goal of the implementation of SAI20, as well as the collaboration and synergy of G20 countries in the context of global economic recovery.

“Our desire for SAI20 is to be able to contribute especially to the aspects of transparency and accountability, good governance. Furthermore, we will ensure that there will be a continuous collaboration between SAI20 and G20 countries, continuity of SGDs implementation and post-COVID-19 economic recovery,” said Isma.
