Jakarta, wapresri.go.id – Vice President Ma’ruf Amin sees off President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo for a working visit to three countries in the East Asia region, namely the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Japan, and South Korea at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Jakarta, Monday (25/07/2022) around 14.00 p.m.

As reported from the President’s Official Website (presidential.go.id), Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi conveyed that the three countries that will be visited by the President are Indonesia’s strategic partners in various fields.

“The three countries are also important partners of ASEAN and in the context of the G20,” explained Retno.

In addition, Retno also mentioned that the President will meet with the leaders of those countries to discuss a number of global issues and take opportunities for deeper cooperation in various fields.

“Various issues from trade cooperation, investment, health, infrastructure, fisheries to regional and international issues will be discussed with the leaders of the three countries,” he said.

Accompanying the Vice President in seeing off President and his entourage, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Lu Kang, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Navy Chief General Yudo Margono, and Acting Governor of Banten Al Muktabar.

Flying with Garuda Indonesia (GIA-1) aircraft, the President and his entourage will take a flight to Beijing Capital International Airport, China for approximately 7 hours and is expected to arrive in the evening. (EP/LHS-BPMI Setwapres)
