Serang, wapresri.go.id – In the course of the post-independence nation’s history, Pancasila as the basis of the state has faced various challenges that are not easy. One of them is the development of the democracy concept which demands more openness and freedom.
However, Vice President (VP) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin stressed that regardless of the twists and turns of the dynamics of the times, Pancasila remains firm to guide the life of the nation and state in the country. Because according to him, Pancasila is a living and dynamic ideology, and remains relevant and able to answer various challenges of the times.
“Pancasila is not a rigid ideological dogma, but noble values that are adaptive, innovative and creative to respond to challenges on various scales, both regional, national and global,” said the VP while attending the Strengthening Pancasila Ideology Development Strengthening event for Banten Provincial Government Apparatuses, at the Banten Governor’s Hall, Serang, Banten, Monday (11/14/2022).
Furthermore, the VP said that Pancasila is a noble agreement that was born as the basic ideology of the state that unites the wishes of all people and groups to liberate Indonesia.
“In terms of religious language, Pancasila is kalimatun sawa (the same word), a meeting point that unites, so that all Indonesians accept it as the state ideology, nationally,” he explained.
Therefore, emphasized the VP, Pancasila and religion, especially Islam, do not contradict and negate each other, but instead reinforce each other.
“A good Muslim, he can become a Pancasilaist. A Pancasilaist can also [become] a good Muslim. So, a kaffah (whole) Muslim can be a Pancasilaist, a Pancasilaist can be a kaffah Muslim,” he stated.
Moreover, the VP explained that Pancasila is a crystallization of the values that inspired the birth of the Indonesian nation, namely the values of divinity, humanity, unity, democracy, wisdom, and social justice.
“So, Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Republic of Indonesia, if the language of the religion is included in the national consensus, al mitsaq al wathani,” he said.
Thus, VP often mentions that Indonesia is a country of agreement (darul mitsaq).
“Therefore, we cannot renege on the agreement, so that people cannot change, violate the agreement, [because] it is called mukhlafatul mitsaq. Replacing Pancasila, replacing the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, changing the 1945 Law is called mukhalafatul mitsaq,” he affirmed.
For this reason, on this occasion, the VP invited all Indonesians, especially the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to continue to practice the noble values of Pancasila in a concrete way.
“ASN is not only required to have technical, managerial and socio-cultural competence, but also ASN with integrity and Pancasila spirit. The noble values of Pancasila must be internalized in the soul, mindset, and performance behavior of all ASNs,” he urged.
This is important, continued the VP, because the government is currently intensively managing various national and regional development agendas in the context of socio-economic recovery.
“ASN plays an important role as a unifying force and glue for the nation. Likewise, its role in bringing Indonesia to become a developed nation and continue to contribute actively in the midst of global challenges and dynamics,” he concluded. (NN /LHS- BPMI, Setwapres)
