Singapore, wapresri.go.id – Tuesday (18/10/2022) is a special day for the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore (KBRI Singapore) and the Indonesian Diaspora. Because, today the Vice President (VP) K. H. Ma’ruf Amin will visit the Indonesian Embassy as one of the agenda of his working visit to Singapore and greet the Indonesian people directly.
“Today is actually a special day for the Indonesian diaspora in Singapore. Because if we look back, the last visit by a high-ranking Indonesian official was President Joko Widodo in April 2019. So, there have been no high-ranking officials for the past three years. Therefore, the presence of Vice President Ma’ruf Amin is very meaningful for our diaspora friends and it can be seen from the extraordinary enthusiasm of our diaspora friends,” said Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo who is familiarly called Tomi at the Indonesian Embassy, 7 Chatsworth. Rd, Singapore, Tuesday (18/10/2022).
Furthermore, Ambassador Tomi conveyed that the enthusiasm of the people was felt, especially by the Indonesian MSME industry players in Singapore. As it is known, many Indonesian citizens have businesses in this lion’s land, one of which is in the culinary field.
“The direction given by the Vice President is certainly very much needed, especially because in Singapore it is not only big businessmen who live here, but there are many Indonesian MSMEs. And if we look at shops, there are many Indonesian places to eat, there is Taste of Indonesia, if we go to Lucky Plaza there are Indonesian noodle dishes. And those are all MSMEs that they struggle to promote and even bring products from Indonesia to be marketed in Singapore,” said Tomi.
“And thank God, so far they have received a good response from the market in Singapore and of course we must continue to maintain this,” he added.
Therefore, in the future, Ambassador Tomi hopes that the direction given by the VP to the Indonesian diaspora in Singapore this afternoon can provide an injection of spirit to be more united and contribute more to building a good image of Indonesia.
“We hope that the direction from the Vice President will keep us motivated. Once again, what we are facing in the future, next year will not be an easy year, and only with a more innovative attitude, willing to collaborate, that will be the strength of this nation, “stated Tomi.
“Hopefully we will continue to be united, and with the leadership of Mr. President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, we will be more united to face this challenge,” he concluded. (NN/LHS, BPMI – Setwapres)
