Jakarta, wapresri.go.id – The rapid development of information technology and intense global competition have disrupted all fields. Therefore, universities must always be ready to help the community face these challenges through various innovations.

“Through innovation, universities can contribute to preparing society for disruptions in the economic, social, and religious fields that arise due to rapid technological developments,” said Vice President K.H. Ma’ruf Amin at the 59th Anniversary of Ar-Raniry State Islamic University (UIN) which took place at the Prof. Auditorium Building. Ali Hasjmy, Kopelma Darussalam, Banda Aceh, Tuesday (25/10/2022).

Not only that, continued the Vice President, innovation is also the key to success in winning the global competition, so it is essential to develop it.

“I hope UIN Ar-Raniry can continue to excel in building the nation towards advanced Indonesia, especially through research and innovation efforts,” he asked.

Furthermore, at 59, the Vice President also hoped that UIN Ar-Raniry would continue to uphold its commitment to producing excellent Muslim intellectuals, which are very much needed to realize an Advanced Indonesia.

“Building quality Indonesian human resources is one of the government’s priorities, namely Indonesian people who are intellectually and emotionally intelligent, globally competitive, and have a noble character,” he said.

Efforts in this field, said the Vice President, cannot be separated from the role of higher education institutions, including UIN Ar-Raniry.

“In addition, I also hope that UIN Ar-Raniry can continue to be an Islamic educational institution that shows the values of moderation that will support the unity and establishment of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution,” the Vice President said.

On the same occasion, the Chancellor of UIN Ar-Raniry Mujiburrahman revealed that UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh is currently able to become an educational institution that stands on a par with other universities in Indonesia, inseparable from the dedication and contribution of its predecessors.

“UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh can develop as it is today, inseparable from the services of our previous leaders who became our foundation and energy for us to act for the progress of UIN in the future,” he said.

Furthermore, Mujib explained that UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, which is more than half a century old, will continue to strive to improve the quality and quality of higher education, especially in terms of accreditation.

“Currently, we are carrying out a massive transformation in preparation for the Accreditation of Higher Education Institutions (AIPT) with a superior predicate, which is due at the end of 2023,” he said.

In addition, said Mujib, currently UIN Ar-Raniry is also targeting to immediately transform from a Public Service Agency (BLU) to a Legal Entity State University (PTN-BH).

“If our BLU is healthy and then develops and progresses, we hope that in the future, UIN Ar-Raniry will become a university with a legal entity,” he hoped. (SM/LHS-BPMI, Setwapres)
