Balikpapan, – This was conveyed by the Vice President when he inaugurated the Opening of the XXXIX National Sports Day (Haornas) 2022 at Batakan Stadium, Jl. Mulawarman, Manggar, Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan, Friday night, (09/09/2022).

“This vision requires the synergies between the central and local governments, the business world and industry, the media and academia, as well as the community in general, including athletes and coaches,” he said.

Furthermore, the Vice President said that the spirit of developing national sports must continue to be reinvigorated because it provides a lot of meaning in life.

“Sport is able to unite differences, because it promotes equality. Sport is not only about stamina, but also more prosperous quality of life,” he said.

More than that, he continued, sport is also able to enforce discipline, toughness, sportsmanship, and cooperation value, all of which are useful in the lives of individuals, society, nation and stnations

“Sports build the character of the nation, it can even become a means of maintaining world peace,” he said.

Therefore, the event-themed “Together Score Champions”, according to the Vice President, was an opportunity for the community to increase their contribution and achievements in the field of sports.

“For the young generation, let’s keep moving, keep exercising. For the elder generation, let’s compete with the young. Together, we make sports a part of everyday life, therefore the Indonesian people will live healthy and active lifestyles.” he said.

Then for the coaches, the Vice President asked to continue seriously raising the performance of national athletes, in order to increase the dignity of the nation through the achievements of athletes at the world championship.

“Scoring champions is certainly not an instant matter, but requires continuous guidance based on science,” he said.

For this reason, the Vice President once again emphasized the importance of using sports science seriously so that athletes will be more well-maintained and achieve better.
