Bank Riau Kepri Syariah Key to Economic and Sharia Sector Growth

Pekanbaru, wapresri.go.id – The development of the financial sector, especially financial institutions such as banks, has a very important role in the movement of the economy. Likewise in the Islamic economic sector, Islamic banks also play a role in strengthening growth in the sector. For this reason, as a banking institution that applies principles according to Islamic law, Bank Riau Kepri (BRK) Syariah is expected to be the key to realizing strategic Islamic economic programs.

“Bank Riau Kepri Syariah must be present as a supporter and booster for the growth of all Islamic economic and financial sectors in the Riau Province,” said Vice President (VP) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin when inaugurating BRK Syariah at BRK Dang Merdu Tower, Jalan Gen. Sudirman No.462, Pekanbaru, Riau, Thursday (25/08/2022).

In line with the VP, the Governor of Riau, Syamsuar, emphasized that BRK Syariah is the main element in implementing sharia-based economic programs in Riau Province and Riau Islands.

“With these strategic sharia economic programs, Bank Riau Kepri Syariah is the key in actualizing all these programs. The contribution of Bank Riau Kepri Syariah and other financial contributions in Riau and Riau Islands together, Insya Allah, will be able to realize national economic growth as well as regional economic growth in Riau and Riau Islands,” he said.

Inauguration of KDEKS Riau Province

In addition to inaugurating Bank Riau Kepri Syariah, the VP K.H. Ma’ruf Amin also witnessed the inauguration of the Regional Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KDEKS) of Riau Province.

Regarding the inauguration, the VP asked the elected management to start working and synergizing with the government, both central and regional government.

“I ask that the KDEKS that has been formed should immediately work effectively, coordinate and collaborate with various stakeholders at the central and regions in accelerating the development of sharia economy and finance at the regional and national level,” the VP asked.

The government through KNEKS (National Committee on Sharia Economics and Finance), added the VP, will continue to synergize with the Riau Provincial Government in encouraging various economic development programs and Islamic finance that have been initiated by the Riau Provincial Government.

In addition, the VP said that the government also fully supports the KIH (Halal Industrial Area) development plan in the Riau Province.

“I hope that a comprehensive study can be carried out, so that later the available KIH can operate optimally to support the development of the halal industrial sector,” said the VP.

“Similarly with the halal certification program for MSMEs. Synergy with various agencies/institutions at the central, including support from the Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs Office of Riau Province to be carried out optimally,” he concluded.

Also present at the event, Governor of the Riau Islands Ansar Ahmad, Deputy Chairman of the Financial Services Authority Mirza Adityaswara, President Director of PT. BRK Syariah Andi Buchari and all members of BRK Syariah.

Meanwhile, the VP was accompanied by the Head of the Vice President’s Secretariat Ahmad Erani Yustika, Deputy for Government Policy Support and National Insight Felix Wanggai, Special Staff for the VP for Communication and Information Masduki Baidlowi, and the Expert Team of the VP Johan Tedja Surya, Farhan Brachma, and Iggi Haruman Achsien.
