Visiting the 11th Air Squadron Sultan Hasanuddin Air Force Base, the Vice President Writes a Special Message for Indonesian Air Force Soldiers

Makassar, wapresri.go.id – Concluding his series of working visits in Makassar, Vice President K.H. Ma’ruf Amin took the time to visit the 11th Air Squadron Air Wing 5 at Sultan Hasanuddin Air Force Base in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, Saturday (03/12/2022).

The Vice President was welcomed by Commander of the Sultan Hasanuddin Air Force Base Marsma TNI David Yohan Tamboto, along with all ranks of TNI/Polri officials and the South Sulawesi Provincial Government at the 11th Air Squadron.

On this occasion, the Vice President had the opportunity to inspect the various Indonesian Air Force Main Weapon Systems (Alutsista) stored at the location. In addition, the Vice President also had an explanation from the Commander of the 11th Air Squadron Lt. Col. Pnb. Setyo Budi Pulungan, regarding the duties and functions of the 11th Air Squadron, which operates the Sukhoi SU-27/30 fighter.

Furthermore, during this visit, the Vice President also gave a special message he signed for the Air Force pilots and soldiers. The statement says, “Fap Your Wings and Fly Guarding the Sky in the Aerospace. The Indonesian Air Force Will Be the source of Pride of the Indonesian Nation”.

According to Marsma David Yohan Tamboto, the message from the Vice President has quite a deep meaning and is an encouragement for soldiers, especially Indonesian Air Force pilots.

“For the ranks of the Indonesian Air Force, this message has a profound meaning, where the noble task carried out by the Indonesian Air Force in maintaining national airspace sovereignty is a source of pride for all Indonesian people,” he said.

Furthermore, Marsma David thanked the Vice President for his kindness to inspect the 11th Air Squadron during his visit to Makassar.

“We are very honored by the presence of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. (H.C). K.H. Ma’ruf Amin at Sultan Hasanuddin Air Force Base, especially when visiting the 11th Air Squadron,” said David.

“His presence is certainly a motivation for all of us Indonesian Air Force soldiers at Sultan Hasanuddin Air Force Base to continue to increase professionalism in carrying out tasks in the defense sector,” he added.
