Attending the 16th Anniversary of the Riyadhul Jannah Dhikr Council, the Vice President Urges the People to Perform Economic Jihad in the Face of Crisis

Depok, wapresri.go.id – The Vice President KH Ma’ruf Amin attended the 16th Anniversary of the Riyadhul Jannah Dhikr Assembly and Haul Akbar at the Syech Muhammad Yusuf Mosque, Margonda Raya, Depok, Saturday (20/08/2022).

In the event organized by the Riyadhul Jannah Dhikr Council, the Vice President appealed to Muslims, as part of the nation, to fulfill the call of the homeland.

“In the past, our ancestors fulfilled the call to fight the enemy, to expel the invaders. They fulfill the principle of patriotism. Now our call is to prepare for a crisis,” he explained.

According to the Vice President, the crises that would occur around the world, including the energy crisis and food crisis, are the result of the war in Ukraine and climate change. Therefore, the Indonesian people needed to be prepared to face the crisis by carrying out economic jihad.

“To defend our lives. Because according to scholars, maintaining life, by maintaining [fulfillment of] basic needs, primary, secondary, and tertiary, is a major goal of the Shari’a,” he added.

On that occasion, the Vice President also appreciated the method of preaching the Riyadhul Jannah Council was soothing, so that it succeeded in embracing all levels of society, especially Muslims.

This, said the Vice President, could be seen from a number of da’wah rules that are highly guarded until now, namely not insulting the government and any party, not insulting Muslim groups, then not insulting non-Muslims, and not talking about practical politics.

Previously, Habib Abu Bakar bin Salim bin Umar bin Hood Alatas appreciated the presence of the Vice President who was also a student of the late Habib Umar, Habib Abu Bakar’s grandfather.

“We are very grateful, Abah is willing to attend this event. Also with the presence of other officials that beyond our expectation,” said Habib Abu Bakar.

Present at the event were the Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) Boy Rafli Amar and the Grand Imam of the Istiqlal Mosque Nasaruddin Umar.

Meanwhile, the Vice President was accompanied by the head Vice President Secretariat, Ahmad Erani Yustika, and Special Staff of the Vice President Masduki Baidlowi. (DMA-BPMI Setwapres)
